On the side of his website or blog pages, he placed an ad for programming books or softwares. Anyone who click the link and end up buying it from the merchant's website, Rob earns 75% of the price of the book or software as a commission for his effort.
Newsletter also can be the media to promote the product. Put a link to the product on the email you send. Any of your members click the link and buy the product, you get commissions too.
Affiliate marketing can be a very lucrative business. There are a huge number of affiliates earning full-time incomes from affiliate marketing. And many of affiliates doing more than that! You can earn from $50 up to $5000! Or you can earn less than that. It depends on your seriousness.
This is not 'get rich quick' scheme. It takes a lot of hard work to earn big. Affiliate marketing is pay-for-performance business, meaning you only earn money if you're producing results for the merchant.
This is a big business and legitimate, too. Affiliates worldwide collectively earn billions of dollars each year.
The good thing is this business is internet-based. So anyone can join. And there's no door to door selling!
The thing you should know about affiliate marketing is that you don't sell your own product. Creating your own product is a different business that requires a lot more risk than affiliate marketing. Creating a product means you need to invest money. Not to mention you need to promote it, handling payments and delivery. It's a lot of risk.
Affiliate marketing also is not all about gambling, pornography, pharmaceuticals, gambling or online dating. Almost any products you can promote. From ebooks, softwares, health cares, online gaming or even relationship advice, etc.
Don't be spammer! Everybody hates spammer. You should write a good article while you can promote a product related to the topic in a good manner.
